One of the reasons I frequently expose and warn of the occult is because it has never been more prevalent and accepted by those calling themselves "Christian." Many times occult aspects are not immediately obvious, and the Vatican II sect never warns of its many dangers.
It was brought to my attention that some members of the Vatican II sect engage in a practice known as "dowsing." There are associations that promote it and claim it has scientific validity. In this post, dowsing will be explained and its occult connection will be exposed. (I have herein compiled my research on this topic from a plethora of sources, including pamphlets, books and Internet sources. I have condensed the information into a terse post. I take no credit whatsoever for the content.---Introibo).
What is "Dowsing"?
According to one source: Dowsing, also called “divining” or “witching,” refers to the practice of observing a pointer — often a forked stick, rods, bent wires, or a pendulum — move in response to some type of influence or transmitter. Some consider it a reliable method for locating underground items of interest, including water, oil, and ore. There are even those who believe that dowsing can help locate buried remains (sometimes called “grave witching”).
(See leb.fbi.gov/spotlights/forensic-spotlight-dowsing-for-human-remains-considerations-for-investigators#:~:text=Dowsing%2C%20also%20called%20%E2%80%9Cdivining%E2%80%9D,water%2C%20oil%2C%20and%20ore)
The fact that the word "witching" is used should be an immediate red flag. In addition, some use the "dowsing rod" to bend in response to queries about the future--the occult practice of divination. Dowsers claim that they possess a natural sensitivity to alleged earth magnetism, water “radiations,” or some other natural phenomenon. They believe their dowsing stick or other device (often an occult pendulum) somehow “focuses” or otherwise identifies this energy so that one is able to find water or other substances or things that one is seeking — including oil, treasure, and lost persons or objects.
The fact that dowsing works is clearly its major defense. Dowsers think that if it works it must therefore be both a helpful and legitimate method: “What interests us about all dowsers is not the theories they develop but the results they obtain. It is these results which will attract more and more adepts [initiates] as well as less and less convinced adversaries.” (See Otis Brickett, “The Gift of Healing,” The American Dowser, August 1979, 116)
According to canadiandowsers.org:
Open-minded big businesses use dowsing, too. Hoffman-La Roche, one of the largest global pharmaceutical companies in the world, has used dowsing to locate water for its new plants. La Roche needs large quantities of good water to process the chemicals into drugs. A company magazine quoted Dr. Peter Treadwell as saying, “Roche uses methods that are profitable, whether they are scientifically explainable or not.”
According to a pamphlet from the American Society of Dowsers, there are three (3) types of dowsing:
- Field Dowsing — the “traditional” use of dowsing which involves locating water, objects, and so forth on a given terrain.
- Remote/Map Dowsing — “witching the area” so to speak, is not required in this approach. Instead, the dowser locates the target from a distance using the rod and a map to narrow down what is to be found
- Information Dowsing — the dowser obtains needed information on any subject with neither space nor time limits. Direct quote: The dowser is now trying to access the universe (or the collective consciousness, or God, or spirit guides, or Guardian Angels or...) for information to answer questions. (See americansocietyofdowsers.wildapricot.org/page-18193; 4-3-2-1-Dowsing pamphlet; Emphasis mine).
How Does Dowsing Work?
According to one source:
It may sound like some rather hokey hocus-pocus, or something from, say, 500 years ago. But by one estimate, some 60,000 water dowsers are practicing in America today. [2023] That's almost 10 times the number of hydrologists, who provide many of the same services as witches, substituting science for dowsing rods.
Not all water witches use the forked branch of a tree these days, of course. Many dowsers locate the underground water based on movement of divining rods. Copper rods and pendulums are popular tools of the trade. Smartly contorted wire coat hangers might do the trick. Shovels. Pitchforks. Glass beads. A crowbar. These are simply channels for the power.
And not all dowsers go about their groundwater search the same way. Some actually incorporate science into their divining; they look at the topography of the land, the geology. They use maps. They may even have an understanding of local aquifers. They make drawings. Do tests.
All rely on some kind of unseen, perhaps divine, intervention to suss out the water. It's an innate ability, a "sense" or "intuition." Sometimes it's simple and quiet. Sometimes it's more theatrical. "You can see some of these folks performing on YouTube," Jarvis says. "Their bodies go into all sorts of contortions." (See science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/unexplained-phenomena/water-dowsing.htm; Emphasis mine).
There wouldn't be 60,000 practicing water dowsers (not to mention those who use map and informational dowsing) if it didn't produce results. However, there is a serious conflict over the reason behind successes. There are three major explanations:
- The Ideomotor Effect. The pointers are typically held in a position of unstable equilibrium, and, therefore, a small movement, such as an involuntary vibration in the user’s arm, becomes amplified and causes the pointers to visibly move. This involuntary motor behavior is guided by the user’s perception. However, this does not explain why it is frequently right. (Source: leb.fbi.gov).
- Chance. Worldwide, scientific testing of dowsing consistently disproves the dowser’s claim that it merely represents a natural or learned sensitivity to radiations or some other physical phenomenon. Moreover, The natural explanation of "successful" water dowsing is that in many areas water would be hard to miss. The dowser commonly implies that the spot indicated by the rod is the only one where water could be found, but this is not necessarily true. In a region of adequate rainfall and favorable geology, it is difficult not to drill and find water! (See pubs.usgs.gov/gip/water_dowsing/pdf/water_dowsing.pdf).
- Demonic influence. As a form of occult divination, the forces of Hell would want to give confirmation to get more people involved and keep those using it satisfied that they have "power." I'm not suggesting that all dowsing is demonically directed. Some may be chance and others the work of a charlatan.
The Occult and Dowsing
As the power of dowsing is not some scientifically proven human ability, are there good reasons to believe that it is occult and its successes may be attributable (at least some of the time) to demonic forces? Yes, and they are listed below.
Dowsing is a form of Divination
Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means. Interestingly, the members of the Vatican II sect have pre-Vatican II support that dowsing is not really sinful. Upon examination, however, the protest fails.
According to theologian Jone, both divination and sorcery are per se grave sins because it involves either an explicit or implicit invocation of the devil to obtain knowledge. He explains an implicit invocation of Satan as follows: Implicit invocation of the devil is also a grave sin. Even though one protests against the influence of the evil spirit, one still invokes him by using evidently inadequate means to produce some definite effect. If there is a possibility that the effect is the result of some unknown powers of nature, one may use such means if he protests against any diabolical influence. Such a protestation is unnecessary if one is certain the effect is produced by natural causes even though the respective natural powers are little known, as happens, for example, in the use of the divining rod for the location of water or veins of metal. (See Moral Theology, [1961], pgs. 98-99; first emphasis in original, second emphasis mine).
Theologian Jone's approval of dowsing is predicated upon the condition that it has natural causes of which science knows very little. (He also does not include dowsing for information wherein the future is to be told by the rod). Dowsing even fooled some Catholic clerics, which helps explain the conclusion of Jone. Fr. Alex Bouly (1865-1958), coined the term radiesthesia in place of dowsing back in 1927 and founded The Society of Friends of Radiesthesia. The coined term means "radiation perception" because that's how Fr. Bouly thought it worked. Since 1961,when Jone's theology manual was published, much scientific research has been done regarding dowsing.
Various experiments prove there is no "natural cause" such as "radiation perception" that makes dowsing work. You can find the experiments here:
- https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF01134560
These are not all of them, just two examples. Yet, dowsing for water and information is sometimes so accurate, it cannot be dismissed as the ideomotor effect, chance, or chicanery. If theologian Jone had the knowledge of these experiments (especially since the 1980s), I'm sure his teaching on dowsing would have changed since we can now be certain that the effect is not produced by any natural causes as Fr. Bouly thought.
What, exactly, are the reasons to think of an evil power source of dowsing's success? There are four (4) reasons.
1. Many dowsers enter a trance when dowsing.
Altered states of consciousness are used by pagans and shamans to make contact with "spirits" (demons). According to literature put out by those who practice dowsing: The secret of good dowsing…is a curious state of mind….Dowsing has been compared to a mild state of hypnosis, or trance, or meditation. (See Gordon MacLean, “Dowsing Experiences and Problems,” The American Dowser, May 1976, pgs. 182-183).
2. Dowsing requires using the rod like a Ouija Board.
Many indications exist that a personal spirit entity operates through the dowsing implement and that interaction with it is necessary for success. For example, the dowser is instructed to ask specific questions of his rod and get "yes" or "no" answers for information. What "natural cause" answers questions? This requires intelligence. It is identical to asking questions of a Ouija board and it points to "yes" or "no." If your questions are answered, it comes from a decidedly evil intelligence.
3. Dowsing is linked to other forms of the occult.
Dowsing is often linked with other forms of occult practice. For example, dowsers have made connections between dowsing and such practices as astral projection, remote viewing, shamanism, and yoga in their literature.
4. Some dowsers claim contact with "spirit entities."
Some dowsers also admit connections to the spirit world. A report on one dowsing seminar confessed that ...dowsers…are always surrounded by discarnate entities eager to express themselves….They most easily accomplish this by breaking in and influencing the movement of whatever dowsing instruments are being used….(See William Vrooman, "Dowsing for Health: Mental and Spiritual Bodies of Human and Non-Human Entities," The American Dowser, November 1977, pg.151).
Conclusion
Dowsing is neither a scientific endeavor, nor some innate human ability. When it works, the evidence points to demonic influence, as it is now morally certain to be a form of divination. Knowledge and the testing of dowsing have grown greatly in the last 60 years. Those who practice dowsing will find themselves engaging in an activity condemned by the Church. Remember well the words of Sacred Scripture, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; because of these same detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you." (See Deuteronomy 18:10-12; Emphasis mine).
Dear Introibo and readers,
ReplyDeleteJust recently, you may have heard the news that Jorge Bergoglio, commonly known as ''Pope Francis'' died. I pray that he may rest in peace. I also composed a prayer for the restoration of the church. I also pray that the new pope would be a traditionalist, or even a conservative Novus Ordo that will restore the Latin Mass. Please also pray for my friend Kathy Beaumont, (the voice of Alice and Wendy) who may be near death. Thank you very much.
Sincerely, Ryan
Ryan,
DeleteMay Bergoglio have repented before death. I will pray for your friend and ask my readers to do the same.
However, there is no pope coming from the Vatican II sect. A pope may only be Catholic, not "conservative." If sedeprivationism is true, the material pope must publicly become Catholic to be a formal pope. That would restore the Church. If sedeprivationism is not true, nothing coming out of that conclave will be Catholic or a "pope." Restore the Latin Mass? We need the restoration of the Church!! The Vatican II sect has virtually no more valid clergy, so no "mass" of theirs would be valid anyway.
God Bless,
---Introibo
Introibo,
DeleteI also forgot to add the restoration of the church in my comment. Please forgive me because when I was typing the comment, I was in a hurry.
Ryan,
DeleteNo need for an apology! I figured you meant that also.

The proliferation of occultism is a sign of the great darkness of our times. And it has taken hold of the Vatican since the death of Pope Pius XII. The sixth usurper of the Chair of Peter since the death of the last true Pope has been called to account to God for his life and works. The world mourns his death because he said what the world wanted to hear, for example: "Who am I to judge?" and his calls for ecological conversion. He once said we need not fear Judgment Day... well, that day has arrived for him and it won't be a fun time after what we've seen since 2013.
ReplyDeleteSimon,
DeleteBergoglio himself would go to a pagan witchdoctor for reiki, another pagan ritual alleged to bring health. His Judgement was most fearful, I'm sure.
God Bless,
---Introibo
He participated in an indigenous pagan ritual during his visit to Quebec (link below). And we know the love of the V2 false popes for false religions. Only a few of us know the truth about what has happened over the past 60 years, but this truth is ignored by the fake news media and their "religion experts" called upon to comment on current events at the Vatican.

I prefer listening to people like this versus novus ordo people. We pay close attention to people completely fooled by so much. At least this guy gets that Vatican is evil and knows the new world order plots and schemes. This guy gets more right than most of humanity. I am tired of the novus ordo blindness and the billion Catholics fooled, not just by NO but by the vaxx, new world order, freemasons, etc etc etc!
I personally think Jorge "died" a while ago and globalists pick dates of death to suit their scams. Many are just heading to their bunkers while evil doers plan the next three ring circus! All the world is a stage! Exit Jorge! Enter pope st francis...sodomite intercessor!

Around the world, people wait in anticipation of who the next “pope” will be. Will it be this man from this continent, or that man from that continent? In the end, it doesn’t matter. Every “cardinal” is part of the V2 sect and every one of them belongs to the conciliar church and is thereby outside the Traditional Catholic Church.
ReplyDeleteBut the Novus Ordo apostolates will sing the praises of whoever emerges wearing white in a few weeks. If I had to venture a guess, Parolin seems the most likely because he seems the most viable option to push the One World agenda to its final limits. He seems more cold and calculating than many of the others. Some of the “papabile” are just complete buffoons and electing them would be nonsensical. Even the demons know this with their darkened intellects. Then again, Bergoglio didn’t have the covert modernism that Ratzinger had. He was very overt but it didn’t matter because we are so late in the game, the V2 sect would go along with anything their so-called “pope” said or did. It really doesn’t matter. Hiding his modernism like Ratzinger did (like Dracula in the darkness) didn’t matter. It was on open display for all to see.
The Novus Ordo conservatives like EWTN will continue to root for Vigano, Schneider, and Burke to be the force of light to oppose the liberal darkness that occupies the Vatican. Burke, who was all bark and no bite, with his ferocious dubia. Vigano, who participated in ecumenical events and never made the public jump to Sedevacantism. Apparently the man still can’t figure out it’s the only viable option. And then lastly Schneider. If this man isn’t a case of controlled opposition, then who is??? Francis punished Perea, Torres, Ganswein, Strickland, Rey, Burke, and a host of so many others, yet Schneider never got a slap on the wrist for speaking out voraciously against Francis. Interesting!
The bigger question is how long will it take the Eternal Wishful Thinking Network, (Non) Catholic Answers, The (so called) Remnant, and other Novus Ordo’s and R & R’s to come to see there is only one solution to this problem. For years, they have all avoided it at all costs. Will they accept their new prince in all his majesty, recognize and resist him as they continue to pick and choose what should and should not be followed, etc.? “Quo Vadis” is a serious question they need to ask themselves.
A new “pope” gets elected. Some will accept everything he says and does because he must be the pope. Others will pick and choose to accept what THEY choose because they are the final arbiter on the issue, not Parolin, Erdo, Tagle, Zuppi, Scola, etc. But heaven forbid you tell them there hasn’t been a valid reigning pope since 1958. Like the Pharisees and the Chief Priests, they will scream “That is blasphemy,” just as they did almost 2,000 years ago when a Jewish carpenter said, “I Am. And you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power of God, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

TradWarrior,
DeleteExcellent analysis as always, my friend!

Good commentary, TradWarrior ! I've been listening more or less attentively to the media since yesterday because it's full of journalistic verbiage and analyses by "religion specialists" who don't tell the truth about the situation of the Church since 1958. They praise the so-called humility of "Pope Francis" but gloss over his heresies, blasphemies, sacrileges and public acts of apostasy.
DeleteThe next "pope" of the V2 sect will be a modernist, but will he be a conservative or a progressive ? It will be interesting to see what happens, but I think it's safe to say that he won't restore the Church to the way it was before the fateful Robber Council.
Yes, great commentary. "...like Dracula in the darkness" - ha! Very true.
DeleteToday my bet is on a relative conservative who will satisfy the "conservative" masses and keep them from thinking too much. The modernists will do what they want anyways. I try to think now and then about that smudging ceremony you mentioned, Simon, so I can readily tell someone if the situation arises.
Love it Trad Warrior!
ReplyDeleteBut Jesus is jew carpenter... I don't buy that.
Of course He was a Jew.

I saw this today...see below. Does anyone know more? (Ps...I think globalists picked date of fake pope death/departure to bunker)
ReplyDeleteIn some calendars, April 21 is the traditional founding date of Rome (753 BC), known as the “Birthday of Rome.” That’s significant: the pope dies on the day Rome was “born.”
The amount of symbolism and numbers in this date is significant . 88 years 4 months 4 days old= 444
444 in Strong’s Concordance (Hebrew): “to be corrupt” (Strong’s H444 = elil meaning worthless/godless idols)
In Greek: 444 = anthropos = “man” pointing to the man of sin, man of lawlessness (2 Thessalonians 2)
The number 88 Biblically represents new beginnings or resurrection. 88 could mean a counterfeit resurrection or false new beginning. Quite fitting for someone seen as an Antichrist figure.
8th letter H x2 HH= Hitler, sometimes associated with secret societies or even coded references to duality, hidden agendas, or ruling elites.
88 mph is the speed needed for time travel in Back to the Future, often used in predictive programming themes.
St. Malachy’s prophecy (supposedly written in 1139) gave this ominous statement for the final (112th) pope:
“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations; and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful Judge will judge his people. The end.”
This is not a funeral… Rome is falling:).
Does anyone else do all these Decodes like me? Not really the post for this page though, but it’s about the judgement and characters in the scripted narrative exiting the stage.
This is fun, but not necessarily true. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing it.
DeleteYes fun! Like this too!

Perfect example of brainwashing. I woke up today with this song in my head! I who always try to think of God...this is my brain waves working as I wake! Hearing crud I heard as a child. I have not listened to music of any sort for over a decade...unless in stores, etc. I intentionally stay away from music. This band has a name of a corporation? Insane. I am so sick of it all.
I knew in 2020 that 5g was frying me. When I take showers or swim, for example, I can hear music...via radio waves (water facilitates). At first I thought God was speaking to me in odd ways...but no! It is the world and the devil corrupting and poisoning me, even though I decided long ago to stay away from this crap!
I hope to keep rocking all boats per se...especially the NO boat (a sunken ripped raft in best case scenario) so folks find the true boat (ark of salvation).
I think I hurt your feelings. Should I apologize? Maybe the word "fun" was a little bit of a bad idea...

ReplyDelete@anon10:47
DeleteI have no idea what the SSP will or won't do. The SSPV never did consecrations in secret--it was only Bp. Kelly's consecration by Bp. Mendez that was kept under wraps because Bp. Mendez wanted it that way until he passed.
The consecrations of Bps. Santay and Carroll were announced in advance publicly.
If both remaining Bishops of the SSPX pass at the same time, my guess is they will accept Vatican II sect consecrations---which they have publicly defended for years.

There is only one correct solution to a Sudoku puzzle if it is properly constructed. Every other attempt to solve the puzzle will turn out incorrect. The Truth of the Catholic Faith operates much the same way. There is One Baptism, One True Faith, One True Church, etc.
ReplyDeleteThose who hold to the SSPX want to have it both ways. They want to have a foot on both sides of the line – one in the Traditional Catholic Church and one in the Conciliar Church. Both are opposed to each other. Both cannot be correct.
Take the Resurrection of Christ. There is 1 of 5 possibilities and only 1 of the 5 will be correct: 1) Jesus died and rose from the dead (Resurrection Theory). 2) Jesus died but He didn’t rise. The apostles were deceived (Hallucination Theory). 3) Jesus died but He didn’t rise. The apostles made up a myth (Myth Theory). 4) Jesus died but He didn’t rise. The apostles were deceivers (Conspiracy Theory). 5) Jesus didn’t die (Swoon Theory).
#2 does not hold up. There were too many qualified witnesses. The 500 saw Christ. Many of them were together at the same place and time. They touched Him. If it was a hallucination, where was the corpse? A hallucination does not explain the empty tomb, the rolled-away stone, and so much more.
#3 does not hold up. There was not enough time for a myth to develop. The first eyewitnesses were women. Men would have been the first on the scene if someone was pushing a myth, not women whose testimony was not taken seriously. This only further shows the authenticity of the Gospels account of what truly had happened. The Gospels were written by eyewitnesses.
#4 does not hold up. There were no dissenters among the apostles with the conspiracy. There was no motive for such a lie. What advantage did the “conspirators” gain from this lie? They were scorned, hated, persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, exiled, crucified, boiled alive, beheaded, fed to lions, etc.
#5 does not hold up. Jesus could not have survived crucifixion. The Romans knew how to execute capital offenders and if they failed, they would be executed themselves under Roman law. How could the apostles and disciples nurse back to health a man who had been scourged, crowned with thorns, and had nails and a spear driven through his body? Plus, resuscitate a man that died from asphyxiation? How could a swooning half-dead man have moved a huge stone at the entrance of the tomb? Who moved the stone with guards surrounding the tomb? No one has ever answered this question.
CONTINUED…#1 is the only one that holds up. The eyewitness account of those that saw Jesus after his Resurrection was numerous. They touched Him and ate with Him. Many historical sources outside of Scripture attest to the fact that Jesus was a historical person and many people visibly saw Him after He had died.
ReplyDeleteLike a Sudoku puzzle and like the Resurrection, there is only one logical solution to the crisis in the Catholic Church today: Sedevacantism. To have a heretical pope and a defecting church, contradicts the popes, scripture, early church fathers, doctors, saints, ecumenical councils, canon law, etc.
As we approach this upcoming “conclave”, the question remains: How much of the modern Catholic world will eventually come to accept the painful reality that we have been vicarless since 1958? Vatican II taught multiple heresies in its many documents, something no true pope could have officially sanctioned, yet the last 6 “popes” have done just that. The ambiguous argument doesn’t hold up either, for the church cannot teach ambiguously, but She always teaches clearly (e.g. Pope Pius VI “Auctorem Fidei”). The Holy Ghost does not give ambiguity.
We must pray hard for all those people who have not yet come to the one, logical answer. The only correct solution to the logic puzzle that still stumps so many.
Michael Matt once asked why he always had to put on his Sherlock Holmes hat and decipher everything that Francis was saying because so much of it seemed heretical. The answer is: You never need to decipher what a true pope is teaching because it is always clear and to the point. As Sherlock Holmes once said, “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”

They accept doubtful NO bishops, so I would not think they would have issue with Thuc line. But then again, we are talking about the SSPX here and who knows what goes into their thinking.

ReplyDeleteR&R group wrote above yesterday. Are they just extracting quotes out of context? I asked Catholoc Candle if NO is false and evil, why in the world are we going to believe so and so is the pope by people deceived by a false religion. That doesn't make sense. I also wonder how it works with the laity if Sanborn's sedeprivationist stance is true. All the deceived will no longer be deceived if some material pope becomes a true pope? Introibo,I get the feeling that bp Sanborn, etc take the sedeprivationist position to Dogma.Agree,it's only a theory.I don't think it has been heard of in the True Church before?
ReplyDeleteThe theory comes from Michel-Louis Guérard des Lauriers. It’s nonsensical and it’s halfway between R&R and true Sedevacantism. Bishop Sanborn says that these so called material Popes are trying to impose a false religion on the Church. Well what does that mean then? It means they aren’t Catholic. They can’t lead The Church. There’s no such thing as a “Pope-elect” who is a heretic but then becomes Pope once he puts away his heresy. A formal heretic cannot be Pope! Period. They are Ipso Facto deposed by God. No formal declaration needed. This was taught by Martin V, Pope Leo XIII, Saint Frances De Sales, Saint Robert Bellarmine, and others. Sedeprvationism is ridiculous and it falls apart under scrutiny. They came up with it to explain the perpetual successors. But the office, the seat is perpetual, not the people that sit in The Chair. Otherwise we couldn’t have interregnums.
DeleteYes so I am worried about priests who subscribe to this theory and now want to avoid them altogether.
DeleteAnother sede site that seems good. So few resources we have.
https://youtube.com/@thecatholicwire?si=7IeAUeGaA1lPEYuM
People have to realize that Bishop Sanborn, SGG, CMRI, SSPV etc are not The Catholic hierarchy. They offer valid sacraments and have some aspects of tradition, but they are wrong on some serious theological issues. This is The Great Apostasy. Bishop Pivarunas is not going to convert the world and there isn’t going to be Three Days of Darkness.
Delete@anon4:57
DeleteI agree it is only a theory, and Bp. Sanborn and certain priests (Fr. Desposito, to name but one), try to impose it upon people. They have no such authority to do so and it is wrong.
@anon2:17
Although I am NOT sedeprivationist, I am open to it. It is not as easy to dismiss as you think. What really keeps me open to it is the fact that Luciani (JPI) **MIGHT** have actually become pope before the Masons murdered him. He asked Fr DePauw to come to Rome and was to be placed in charge of a Commission to undo the damage of Vatican II and restore the Mass. Alas, it never came to pass. A great book about Luciani's murder is called "In God's Name."

@anon2:17pm
ReplyDeleteI agree and I could not have said it any better myself. It definitely seems halfway between R & R and full Sedevacantism. I also agree with anon1:22pm and anon4:57am. I think that Bishop Sanborn does not make sense with several of his positions. I respect all the Sede clergy and try to give them the benefit of the doubt when at all possible because these are very trying times in which we are living. However, Bishop Sanborn’s RCI group holds to some things that are erroneous. The Cassiciacum Thesis being treated as if it were dogma, the rejection of the 1955 Pian Holy Week, the dogmatic anti-Una Cum enforcement issue, etc. are all very problematic. As I also mentioned in a prior post, his group takes a VERY strict stance on formal dress code attire and this has led to many, many problems with parishioners as well as passersby that were curious about the Sedevacantist position and then saw what an RCI church was like and never came back. There have been many people hurt and belittled over the RCI’s dress code rules. As long as someone comes dressed neatly to Mass, they are fine. I never understood why they make such a huge deal over the strict dress code. Several of them harp on it over and over to no end. Sedevacantists represent about 0.0001% out of the 1.2 billion Novus Ordo’s in the institutional church. If anything, Sede clergy should be trying to grow the numbers as best as possible. Their methods are very counterproductive. The RCI group shoots themselves in the foot and is responsible for many people leaving for one reason or another. Some of them actually remind me of the Pharisees in Jesus’s day. They seem to forget that Christ interacted with tax collectors, lepers, prostitutes, etc. I don’t think He told them, “Wear a suit and tie in my presence or get the heck out of my sight!” The Son of God won hearts and minds over to Him first and foremost through charity. This is sadly lacking among many in the RCI. Where the RCI fails in these areas, the SSPV fails on the Thuc issue. Again, these are trying times and it’s hard with no true pope, but some of this stuff seems very common sense and not hard at all. Why some clergy fail to grasp the obvious is beyond me?
-TradWarrior
Very interesting! So what type of dress do people get kicked out for? At my old NO show I couldn't believe all the people who showed up at daily mess basically wearing pajamas, sweats or workout gear (sweating)...and even bathing suits and sheer (see through) coverups, with sand on them! And another poster said you have to sign a document to attend? I wouldn't go to Sanborn centers either just based on his confusing/contradictory positions. Another sedeprivationist outside DC area is vaxxed. Terrible!
Delete@anon11:39am
DeleteI agree that people should look presentable for Mass, but the RCI takes it too far. You asked for specifics. Things like girls dresses being deemed 1-2 inches too short (according to some women at the parish), women having part of their arms showing, men not wearing suits or not wearing ties, etc. Also, outsiders being treated harshly for the way they dress at their loved ones funerals, even though they are not traditionalists and they are not familiar with the dress code rules. When people are grieving and they are showing up to support and pray for their relatives at their funerals, it is not the time to condemn them for not following a dress code (and a very excessive one at that!) that they have no knowledge of. Hope this helps.
-TradWarrior
I would never attend any of Bishop Sanborn’s Mass Centers. He’s not a Sedevacantist. He makes people sign a form to make sure you agree with many of their erroneous theological positions. Bishop Sanborn gives some good sermons but there are quite a few issues with the positions of The RCI.
ReplyDelete@anon9:13
DeleteTo be fair, all Traditionalist groups has problems, which are to be expected in the time of Great Apostasy. If your conscience tells you not to go, you shouldn't go. Sedeprivationism is a form of sedevacantism, but they have no right to make people agree with it. If I had to sign a form that I agree sedeprivationism is true, I would not be able to do so, and could not attend either.
God Bless,

Sedeprivationism says manifest heretics are “legally Catholic” and have to be declared heretics by other heretics who adhere to the same heresies. Foxes guarding the hen house. They are notorious heretics IN FACT. There is no declaration needed and careful examination of “The Thesis” shows why it is completely wrong and goes against Church teaching.
ReplyDelete@anon10:18
DeleteI know many distort sedeprivationism, and maybe that's a version being sold to some. As originally proposed, the heretics are merely "placeholders" who have the possibility of becoming Catholic, they are not "legally Catholic."
If you have a link to a source arguing that sedeprivationsim is against Church teaching, could you please place it here in the comments? I'd really like to read it.

Ps. I sent that link re novus ordo watch but am not person who commented in which you addressed fyi.
DeleteJPI fully accepted and endorsed Vatican II. There is evidence he was a proponent of birth control pills. He was an antipope without a doubt.
ReplyDelete@anon10:26
DeleteYes, and I’m not denying that. However, sedeprivationism teaches that the ONLY thing that the defected hierarchy can do is appoint material cardinals that can elect a material pope, i. e., a heretic who would become pope should he publicly renounce his heresy and publicly embrace the Catholic Faith. Could Luciani have done that and was preparing to publicly reject Vatican II and embrace Catholicism? I think it was possible given what happened with Fr. DePauw. I’m not sedeprivationist, but I hold it as a possibility.
God Bless,
—-Introibo
I agree with you Intro about the Thesis. Thank you for the good article, by the way.
ReplyDeleteAs I read the Sedeprivationist view, I take it that the hierarchy alone, however tainted, possesses the earthly mechanism (the key, if you will) for Papal election.
If I am going by the Thesis, it would seem that since the death of Pius XII, the Vatican hierarchy is electing "popes" the same way someone tries to light a campfire using the spark from stones with no tinder beneath the spark. It is pointless. The Holy Ghost must provide the tinder. But the Holy Ghost has no part with heretics, so no success for the election of a good, true pope by the men who hold the mechanism .
If by a miracle of grace Rome would publicly repudiate and repent of it's heresies, the election process would produce a real pope as wood catches fire, gas fuels an engine or batteries run a machine.
That all probably sounds simplistic, but still makes some sense.
The holders of the Thesis have also said that as time has gone by the chances of such a scenario grow nearly, if not impossible in human terms.
God will step in when He sees fit, one way or another.
Thank you as always, Intro.
God bless you all.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know about these occult theories connecting false Vatican, US false government and true New World Order? Yes, many of these people are not true or even false (NO) Catholics but they draw many interesting parallels/conclusions and I see no traditionals even broaching these subjects. We have been lied to about so much. Even Sanborn said nonsense about vaxx...that priests cover theology, not medical matters, no mention of all re murdered babies in vaxxes which even NO false clergy warned many (such as Strickland, Altman and many local "priests" I know). So insane, beyond belief.. if I can educate myself so can he. Wolves!!
So many cannot be trusted, as Jesus said, trust no man!
Who can I even ask about these matters? Thank you!

So are you saying mount Rushmore and ancient Rome for example, which are presented as they are, are to be believed? I do not believe a man and his son carved out a mountainside nor do I believe the ancient Rome landscape, far more advanced, which can be seen in old maps is a falsehood. Much more info is necessary than what we have.
DeleteYes true Introibo but much is still a lie and no true Catholics are sources so we must search elsewhere in the hunt for the whole truth, in my opinion. I will not discount other research bc they not Catholic. 99.9% of world ain't Catholic. And the Catholics I know, which are few, do little research and exploration. A sede priest even said to me that Mr Ripperger had some knowledge to offer. Well, great, if we can learn from NOers...we can learn from pagans too. Do we reject real science from scientists that are not Catholic? Pretty sure non Catholics cried loudly that murdered babies in vaxxes. What is the saying...a broken clock is right 2 times per day?
Delete@anon5:15
DeleteNo, I'm saying we must proceed with caution. Much is not true but not everything is a lie. In medio stat veritas. A good general principle. I was not addressing Mount Rushmore at all. I stick with theological/philosophical/moral topics.
@anon5:38
I agree. However, we must "learn to discern." Be very careful with non-Catholic sources. You have to go through a lot of chaff to find a piece of wheat.

Introibo,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post, and for your last post on Open Theism (“He[God] is a very good guesser, no doubt” – lol!).
Theologian Jone: “…one may use such means if he protests against any diabolical influence. Such a protestation is unnecessary if one is certain the effect is produced by natural causes even though the respective natural powers are little known…” – so, how can one be “certain” about the source of the produced effect, when one admittedly knows little about the natural powers which are “certainly” the cause? I’m having trouble understanding. It seems like this is based on one’s good conscience about the matter, and also if one isn’t “certain” but believes there to be merely a possibility of a natural cause, then you can still use the method but just make sure you make a protest against diabolical influence? This feels like playing with fire, no?
“The secret of good dowsing…is a curious state of mind” – indeed! Sounds like something probably printed in all occult media.
God Bless,
-S.T.
Seeking Truth,
DeleteI agree that Jone's view, while permitted by the Church, is "playing with fire" in my opinion. Jone was a Franciscan, and they take a more lenient view on things as opposed to the Dominican moral theologians like Prummer, who would not advise as did Jone. In Jone's "defense" so to speak, dowsing had fooled some influential and well-intentioned clerics, and I think that is partially why he taught that opinion. Further, he ONLY applied that principle in practice to dowsing!

To: Anon 9:13 on April 26:
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the idea that Bishop Sanborn makes people sign a form? I have attended some RCI Masses, including some with him personally, and I have never seen such a form.
Go to their website. Under theological directory there is a list of theological positions that the member must agree are certain and true. It lists the positions and at the bottom it says that the member and Superior General sign it. Most of these positions I agree with, there are a few that are either false or merely opinions. This is why I would not sign the form. Now, I don’t know if every member of RCI is asked to sign it. But as we know, many of these congregations and groups have a process in place when new members start attending to make sure that they are in line with that particular group’s theological positions. I shouldn’t have said that members are made to sign the form, but rather that there is a form or section on their website that clearly states that members are to be in line with their views. So, I think one can reasonably conclude that they want members to agree to their positions as certain and true. Otherwise why have that up on the website? Whether it’s enforced or not. I don’t know. But it’s there for all to see. It says the member signs along with The Superior General. It couldn’t be clearer.
DeleteThis form is for seminarians and clergy.
DeleteSee under FAQ:
https://romancatholicinstitute.org/faq/
Who can join the Roman Catholic Institute? The Roman Catholic Institute is open to bishops, priests, and seminarians.
